USDT sent to Coinbase on a network it does not credit
Coinbase's USDT deposit screen in this snapshot is Ethereum. USDT on TRON, BNB Smart Chain, Base, Arbitrum, Polygon or Solana can still confirm perfectly and never appear in a Coinbase Exchange balance.
That is not the same failure as USDC on Base, which Coinbase does document, and it is not the same as an ERC20 USDT transfer that is still inside Coinbase's Ethereum confirmation window.
What usually causes this
These are the common explanations for this category of problem. Which one applies to your transfer depends on your transaction, the network it used and Coinbase's deposit rules — that is what the check above works out.
- USDT TRC20 sent to a Coinbase address copied from a different screen
- USDT BEP20 or Solana USDT sent because the sending exchange offered those as cheaper rails
- USDT on Base or Arbitrum, assuming an EVM address is interchangeable
- ERC20 USDT that has succeeded on-chain but not yet met Coinbase's Ethereum confirmations
One ticker, several unrelated outcomes at Coinbase
| What you sent | On-chain result | What Coinbase's USDT list implies |
|---|---|---|
| USDT ERC20 | Ethereum transfer; gas paid in ETH | Documented deposit route; remaining question is confirmations, minimum, and address match |
| USDT TRC20 | TRON transfer; energy or bandwidth, not Ethereum gas | Not on Coinbase's USDT deposit list in this snapshot |
| USDT BEP20 | BNB Smart Chain transfer | Not on Coinbase's USDT deposit list; Coinbase also does not list BSC for USDC here |
| USDT on Base or Arbitrum | L2 transfer to the same 0x shape | Address format is valid; USDT is still not listed on those L2s at Coinbase |
| USDC on Base | Different token contract from USDT | A documented Coinbase USDC route, not a USDT recovery case |

Why the same 0x address does not make L2 USDT a Coinbase deposit
Ethereum, Base and Arbitrum share an address format. Coinbase can show you a 0x deposit address for ETH or USDC on an L2 and still not watch that address for the USDT contract. The transfer succeeds because the network has no concept of Coinbase's asset list.
TRON addresses do not even share that format. A TRC20 send to a 0x Coinbase address is a different class of error from a TRC20 send to a TRON address you copied from another exchange.
ERC20 USDT that is merely slow
Coinbase's Ethereum confirmation figure in this snapshot is 35. That is high enough that Etherscan can show success while Coinbase is still waiting. Do not open an unsupported-asset recovery for a hash that is ERC20 USDT to a Coinbase Ethereum address until that threshold is behind you.
What to do, in order
- Paste the TXID and confirm the network and token contract before contacting anyone.
- If it is ERC20 USDT to a Coinbase Exchange address, compare confirmations with Coinbase's Ethereum requirement.
- If it is USDT on a network Coinbase does not document, use Coinbase's asset recovery article rather than a generic 'deposit missing' ticket.
- If the destination is a Coinbase Wallet address, the token is already in a wallet you control; that is not Exchange recovery.
- Do not send a second USDT transfer to 'unlock' the first.
Confirm it is USDT, not USDC, before recovery
The eligibility checker will tell you whether Coinbase documents USDT on the network you think you used. The hash then proves whether you actually sent USDT or USDC, which is the usual mix-up on Base.
- USDT-to-Coinbase route check — Choose Coinbase, USDT and the network, then paste the TXID. No wallet connect.

The diagnosis: the likely cause, recovery outlook, step-by-step instructions, the official support route, wording written for that case, and 72-hour monitoring. No subscription.
Questions
Can Coinbase recover TRC20 USDT?
Coinbase does not document USDT on TRON as a deposit network in the snapshot TXLens reviews. Whether a specific hash is eligible for asset recovery is Coinbase's decision in its official browser flow. A confirmed TRON transfer is not an automatic Coinbase credit.
I meant to send USDC on Base. Can I treat USDT on Base as the same?
No. They are different contracts. Coinbase documents USDC on Base in this snapshot and does not document USDT on Base. The free check reads the token from the transaction so you do not have to guess.
